Windermere is a small, charming west Orange County community with almost 3,000 residents, and is growing rapidly. The Windermere real estate architecture ranges from small homes to luxury estates and is surrounded by immaculate, sand bottom lakes. A neighborhood information search engine, Neighborhood Scout, selected the town as the No. 1 place in Florida for families with children and is highly sought out by those looking for a close- knit community atmosphere.

In 1885, 160 acres were purchased by the father of Dr. Stanley Scott who built his home on the shores of Lake Butler. Many believe that he named the town after England’s famous Lake Windermere. Today, it strives to focus on the preservation of nature and a strong community.

In honor of its commitment to a natural environment for 20+ years, it’s been named “Tree City USA”. You’ll find ten parks, three piers, a swimming area, boat ramps, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a library.

Windermere is the home of great schools, has a very low crime rate, and has a high rate of home ownership. Your neighbors are highly educated and have a passion for the arts, love spending time in libraries, and are drawn towards luxury.

The quaint downtown attracts people from the surrounding area with its brick streets, extensive landscaping, and pedestrian sidewalks. When walking down the street you’ll see families gathering for breakfast, meeting for lunch, and grabbing a late afternoon ice cream cone. During its many events, thousands of people gather for festivals, attend the monthly farmers market, and celebrate holiday parties.
